Actively shaping the energy transition in SAP
Private households can benefit from the connection of an energy generation plant with direct feed-in of the electricity into the operator's grid. However, up to now, the mapping of these connections has meant a considerable manual administrative effort on the part of network operators.
CLC xinteg has worked with incumbent network operators to develop a solution to address these Simplify processes and reduce the workload significantly - naturally in compliance with current legal regulations.
The EEG: Legally binding basics
All the legal framework conditions for this are regulated in the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), among other things. And here, too, digitization plays an important role in simplifying processes and making them leaner. From January 1, 2025, new legal requirements (Section 8 (7) EEG) will come into force, which will require the Processing of grid connection requests clearly simplify and at the same time accelerate should.
In concrete terms, this amendment means that grid operators will in future have to comply with certain obligations affecting RE plants up to 30 kW with existing house connections. Thus, the extension of the law provides for the following:
Mapping the management of power generation plants in SAP much more efficiently
If energy supply companies have to process a large number of applications for new installations, extensions or dismantling of EEG generation plants of private end customers, this is usually not possible without considerable effort. In particular, the currently predominantly manual processing of forms that are filled out by hand and scanned in again, which arrive at the operator by mail or even by post, cause a large part of the administrative effort - and the number of applications here doubles almost every six months. With the help of modern Fiori apps, these processes can be made much more efficient, including a direct data connection to legally prescribed web portals (for example, the Market Master Data Register/MaStR).
The SAP for Utilities (IS-U) module or "S/4 HANA Utilities" in a modern HANA context is used as the main tool in the energy supplier or network operator industry to manage related master data such as technical installations, business partners, connection objects and metering points, etc.. Other processes and workflows also take place here, from energy data management (EDM) based on the specified, technical performance data, to customer management, tariffing & billing, to metering point operation and smart metering. Nevertheless, the integration of data also from external sources is not only an important step, but a necessary prerequisite for mapping all approval processes. To ensure that the connection works smoothly, CLC xinteg maps it with a field-proven SAP add-on, CLC-PADD®.
Digitized inquiry processes for EEG generation plants thanks to SAP customization by CLC xinteg
The manual processing effort to date is not only inefficient, but also harbors a large potential for errors. The goal: a fully digitized process, starting with the end customer, who operates the web portal independently and enters the data there directly, through to the automated creation of a suitable transaction in the SAP system, while at the same time reducing the manual effort, including in all subsequent activities.
Ideally, such an EEG request process is mapped completely digitally:
Through the Completely digital image of the EEG request, errors are minimized, the time required is significantly reduced, and traceability is ensured without gaps. The complete new installation process, which usually follows an EEG realignment, can also be started and realized from the EEG inquiry to generate the IS-U master data object "installation" by using the data already available as a basis for it.
